Bee’s Knees Garden Tour

Halifax ~ The Bee’s Knees Gardens will be open to the public for one day on May 31st from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Come enjoy six acres of gorgeous landscaping, 1,700 trees and shrubs, and thousands of annuals and perennials. The gardens were started in 2002 and are the result of the owner’s retirement hobby that got out of hand. The major focus at this time of year are the peonies, iris, hostas, and flowering shrubs.

The hosta collection totals 1,284 plants of 312 different varieties. The daylily obsession totals over 1,000 plants and 427 varieties. Since last year, the lawn art collection has grown by a few bears, a cougar, a pelican, a fix, owls, and various other whimsical pieces.

Landscaped and maintained by owners Dave & Bindy Sheetz, the garden tours are FREE! Persons who can’t walk the six acres can be given a golf cart tour. The bridge between Fisherville and Enders is closed, to get ot the garden, take Rotue 225, turn onto either end of Rutter Road to get to Enders. The public is invited to come and take a relaxing stroll through the gardens.
